Referrals
You can self refer or referral can be via your GP, Dental Practitioner or Hospital Consultant. If you wish to claim from a medical insurance scheme, it is essential to have written referral from your GP or Consultant. You need to check with your insurance company about the details of your physiotherapy allowance, and they will usually issue you with an authorisation number to quote at your first consultation. I can liaise with your referring practitioner at any time either regarding progress or at discharge. I will encourage you to do discuss your treatment with your referring practitioner.
TREATMENT
My approach to treatment is both holistic and dynamic. I use a wide range of skills including a variety of manual treatments e.g. various massage techniques, muscle rebalancing and manipulations. By combining these with exercise therapy and postural adjustment, I aim not only to correct your particular problem, but to prevent it from recurring. As a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), I sometimes use acupuncture as part of a therapeutic programme. I also use relaxation techniques where appropriate.
